I saw another masterful movie by one of the greatest actor in Hindi film industry Mr. Aamir Khan. I can write pages about the movie.
Basically the questions raised in the movie are simple-The education system; y should i learn by rote, why are people around you following this system which tests the memory not concepts; why should i take a beaten down path; why should I not follow my heart; why should I do what everyone does. And how does it do it. Not by being preachy. No that is not Raju Hirani's style. He says it a light hearted friend. A journey two friends take to find their friends who set them on the journey of finding their destiny; finding somethin they were really passionate about. And all this is done in a comic way. Hirani questions the education system without blaming anyone. And ofcourse cinema being cinema has to have a happy ending. One of my favourite dialogues is about MBA's- Engineers becoming MBA's ; then going to work with a bank; why did they do engineering.
Even though i started this post with Aamir Khan, this movie is not only about Aamir. It is a movie which would not have been that had 3 people in their 40's not been able to play 20 somethings. Madhavan, Sharman do a great job. So does Boman Irani. What an actor. Kareena does another Jab We Met kinda role and does it with ease.
The thing is this movie got me thinking. I know this is not the time. I have priorities. But i have started thinkin what am I passionate about. Do I follow my dream. What if I fail. Do I take the leap. Don't know. Still thinking.

Enough!!!
For the past couple of days cribbing has been the order of the day. I have been cribbing about everything and anything- The world, luck, no job, placements, future. I feel lost. Then i thought Luck. Common!!! This is the same guy who said he writes his own destiny so stop WHINNING. Ok you are not on top today. Someday you would. It's not your greatest day, so what? It's not the end of the world. 2012 is still a couple of years away.
So since cribbing has become our favorite passtime i decided to do something to pass my time apart from cribbing. My favorite dialogues. I got down to searching them. They are not in any particular order, but are of movies I can't forget
1)First up Sly in Rocky
Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that
2) Next up The Matrix
"What is "real"? How do you define "real"?"
There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path
3)Forrest Gump
Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.
4)My Best Friend's Wedding
George: It's amazing the clarity that comes with psychotic jealousy.
5)Sorry All Love Story fans- What's up, Doc?
Love means never having to say you're sorry.”
“That's the dumbest thing I ever heard...”
“Th-that’s all, folks!”
6)And of course who can forget the famous Mr. Bond- The Name is Bond, James Bond
7)How could i miss Gone with the Wind
Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn!
8)Ok one from A lot Like Love
If your not willing to sound stupid,
you're not worthy of falling in love.
9)A Beautiful Mind
I'm mortified, petrified, stupefied by you.
10)And Finally one line by Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men
Nicholson: You Want Answers?
Cruise: I want the Truth
Nicholson:You can't handle the truth
These are of course some I could write ..And since the post is getting too long will stop now, have wasted too much time on it already
