Random Musings

Its been a while since I penned anything. During this time there have been a few changes in my life. I have moved one level up at work and in life. Life seems to be moving really fast these days. A little fun a little work, a little this and a little that ..Thats what is going on in life these days.
Read the part 2 of Only Time will tell on my recent trip to Banglore. Must say Archer the master story teller is back in this one. And back with a bang. The book is beautifully written mainly from the perspective of Harry, but in this one Emma seems to be the hero of the book since she does so much. It was a compliment to women power by Archer I guess.
Also the EPL season is entering this amazing phase were anything can happen. Hope Utd. wins the title in this topsy turvy year.
Don't know what got into me this morning. Remembering KJ all of a sudden and the trip to Goa and Harihareshwar. Also seeing Dil Chahta hai for the 1000th time. I can literally repeat the convo of Sameer and Akash about Priya.
Akash saying "Perfection ko improve karna mushkil hai".Epic

Anyway for now Random musings singning off

Random Musings again

Been in office for longer than I anticipated recently..That free time has been very weird. Yes for a consultant, if you are in office you are free :P...I have been reading a lot, been rubbishing my friend's company which downgraded the US a lot by sending him the articles on his official id.
Saw Aarakshan yesterday . Completely unplanned and boy the movie was just that ...Unplanned. Hated it. But then the choice that dj and I had was between Chatur Sing and this. We chose this.
So dj birthday was celebrated by cutting his cake and he giving us a treat . Very small circle-just dj, booj and me. Was fun though.
It seems to be raining weddings. Two close friends are getting wed in Nov within 5 days of each other. Then there is a wedding in Feb. This is going to be fun. Provides us an opportunity to unwind and get back with friends. Lets see.
The Indian "Lokpal" scene is still on. Waiting for the madness to get over. India is also getting rubbished by the English in cricket. Its as though we've sent a school team to face them.
Meanwhile awaiting results in office. Its like exam results. :P....Lets hope they bring joy.

Random thoughts

Its been exactly a month from my last post. A lot of thoughts running through my mind so random so vague. I guess the entropy in my head now would be close to 1.
Our country seems to be seeing a major revolution these days .I am neither for nor against the campaign but somehow I dont think its right to hold elected representatives at ransom like this. Nor is it right to take away the right to protest peacefully . What are we? The government cant act like General Dyer.
Life is also going through upheavals. Having misunderstandings with my closest bunch of friends seems to be a norm now. All of us have developed egos the size of a football field and no one wants to take anything from anyone.
Had an good bus journey and back to Allepy with office folks. JC, Sri, Suv, POoj, Nina, Lokes, John, Sin made awesome company on the boat. Missed DJ though.
Its the start of another EPL season yuppie. Hopefully Utd. nail it again , hit liverpool so hard that they can't forget it.
Started writing again after a long long time. Inspiration to write is back. Don't know how or why but am inspired to write again. Watch this space for excerpts...

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara : A review

Saw the movie with a couple of my friends this evening and thought i'll pen my thoughts on the movie.
First, the movie is about the age old story of seizing the moment, being yourself etc. etc. Three friends meet for a bachelors holiday (not anything like hangover) and realize about life and how they've been leading it by different experiences on the way during the road trip.
The movie is shot in the beautiful locales of Spain. Like DCH made us aware of unknown landmarks in Goa like Chapora, this movie does that to Spain. Farhan absolutely rocks with his dialogue delivery. But what steals the cake is his voice-over saying all those beautiful poetry. I can't get "Dilon main tum betabiyan leke chal rahe ho to zinda ho tum, nazar main kahbon ki bijliyan leke chal rahe ho, toh zinda ho tum" out of my head.Abhay Doel is proving to be the best Deol. Hrithik well I think he's done well. His dialogue delivery is spot on and he is believable as a money minded investment banker.
Zoya Akhtar has done a great job again in infusing so much reality in the narrative. There is a sub-plot of Farhan in the second half which made the film a tad boring at that point, but no complaints.
The best part about the movie is a mix of drama and comedy in the same scene. You would be laughing and then suddenly there is a rush of emotion. Brilliantly done combination.
The ending was awesome, 'simply SUPPPERB'.4 stars from me without a doubt. Infact the friends I went with were all discussing about the holiday never done or instances were we had not let our hair down to do something crazy. This is what this movie does to you
Go seize the moment.

Random Musings

Here I am at 9:45 pm, sitting in another hotel room. Life has recently become a set of stops in hotels. Today check into Pinnacle, tomorrow into some other hotel. Today in the eastern part of the country, tomorrow the western. As I sit in this hotel room, I am wondering how fast life has moved in the past 6 months. It’s surprising that now when I look back, I realize today is the day I complete one year in both the big 4’s put together. Yes it’s been one year since I became a “consultant”. I have moved –yes- from the city that never sleeps to the Detroit of India. I have moved back to my loved ones but not a lot has changed.
For the first time in my life, last weekend, my friends complained that I was not reachable. I was shocked and surprised at the same time. It was hardly surprising though-I missed a lot of their calls. But I was angry on how hypocritical people have become. I mean these were the same people I would call a million times but not get angry if my phone was not picked up. But then I realized why I should prove a point. Let my ego go.
Life they say is a set of experiences. In this fast paced life where we have no time to look back at our experiences, I wonder are these experiences really worth it?
Here I am in a city which seems so silent in the evening. I braved the heat to go out for a walk and realized how little things that go unnoticed so many times could be so beautiful.
I am reading an article in one of the leading magazines about the rise of “Didi” and “women power”. Let’s hope that the changes are for the best of people and people have chosen wisely.
I have not been seeing any movies lately neither have I read anything –so no reviews. I am eagerly awaiting the clash of two titans-Man utd and Barca. Hope Man Utd. get another title to add the huge tally

Review-Only time will tell

Only time will tell -Jeffery Archer's new offering part of a 3 part series follows the life of Harry . It follows his life as he moves from one path to another and ends abruptly.
I have never been a fan of Archer barring Kane and Abel. This one to has that World War feel to it. Somehow Archer tries to play with too many things at once-Love; drama; family which is probably its undoing. The book is boring at times and seems to just meandering in the others.
Sorry Archer but I hope the second part does something to uplift this so called "EPIC"

Random Musings

I logged into my blog and I realized its been 4 months since I wrote anything. How your passion can take a back seat in quest of something else surprises me?
So I have hopped on from one big 4 to another. I think I am settling in fine here. Made new friends. Some of them deciding to move to greener pastures, some still trying to figure out what the greener pasture is. Its been quite an eventful time in the city I love and others love to hate. Been going around catching up with old friends and new.
My house is getting painted and there is a daily squabble on which paint color would suit a room and how my room's size can be increased. Finally my room is huge, over 200 sq feet.
Its that time of the year again. Dhoni and his men are chasing for glory which has eluded us for over 28 years. All of us hold our breaths. May be this could be the master's last hurrah. What a way to go out. It would be a fitting end to the one day career of certainly the greatest one day batsman of all time. Test batsmen there may be some competition. One day there is none. He is/ was and will remain the only master.
I tried to write a few lines of poetry after sometime. The words were all messed up, so decided why try something just for the sake of trying it. If it will have to come it would.
I so wanna go for the Indian Grand prix. It would be a dream come true to see Schumi here though I wish he was driving the scarlet car not the grey one.
Life is all about changes. Life is undergoing changes as I type this and I realize that but I still hope against hope that I could hold on to somethings not allowing them to change.
Ok now I have spoken about things randomly, some of them so random that I don't know why I said them. But what the hell, let the randomness prevail
